#16 A moment of weakness

I have survived
ever since
you gave us up.
Sometimes I give in.
I think of you
and I let it in.
Memories of bliss,
burning feelings
in the chest
come to me through
traffic lights. Smooth
unending roads, tell me
what’s the point if
you are never going home?

A moment of weakness,
let us call it. Let us
mask these longings
as mistakes.

I don’t. love. anymore.

Say it. Feed it.
Everything
to make-believe
just makes you
a little bit
weaker.
